Acquittal in a corruption case.

The prosecution relied primarily on the interception of private telephone conversations, as well as on the fact that the alleged bribe giver was apprehended while in the client’s presence. During a personal search of the alleged bribe giver, law enforcement officers recovered money that the prosecution claimed was intended as the bribe. According to the prosecution, our client was apprehended at the moment of receiving those funds. As part of the defense strategy, the client exercised his constitutional right to remain silent and declined to give testimony. During the trial, the defense successfully challenged the admissibility of the intercepted telephone communications, resulting in their exclusion from the body of evidence. Following the exclusion of these key pieces of evidence, the prosecution was unable to establish the charges with admissible and sufficient evidence. As a result, the court acquitted our client of all charges.
